A magic journey into colorful prints, baby mannequins and heritage Made in Italy

Yes, I'm a fan of Emilio Pucci

It’s definately the ”top event“ in town during Pitti Immagine Uomo 94 : the special opening of Palazzo Pucci in collaboration with the mannequin brand Bonaveri to both celebrate their creativity  and craftmanship throught an immersive show-case itinerary.

These exclusive renowed Made in Italy mannequins break the role and become the main carachters and narrator of Pucci’s universe by using a strong visual language. They accompany visitors to discover the almost secret beauty of this Renaissance palazzo and its history.

Just entering into the courtyard, with a cool open air bar, we are welcomed by over-dimensional mannequins wrapped in Pucci’s most iconic print. On the first floor’s gallery geometrical rows of custom velvet Bonaveri’s mannequis celebrate Pucci’s immense colour library, wearing the universe of Pucci’s accessories. OMG... seems that YOU are the model walking along this catwalk whereas these mannequins are watching you from the side rows of the fashion show!

The beautiful ballroom “Sala Bianca” hosts an installation where the mannequins ironically wears the five innovative elements used by Pucci in his collections : straw,  fringes, rouches, perls, and wigs. And, of course, I didn’t miss the opportunity to be pampered by an hair dresser special corner where I've been invited to wear a printed silk scarf like a movie-star!

Surrounded by the historic frescoes, the ground floor of the Palazzo, which previously housed the Emilio Pucci embroidery ateliers, reveals the inner workings of Bonaveri’s artisanal excellence by seeing skilled artisans while they do cut, sew, paint miniatures’ mannequins. Adorable! I could stand hours watching their hands emphasizing Pucci’s fashion vision.

The journey ends with a visit to Marquis Emilio Pucci’s studio, where are displayed some personal memorabilia and private objects leading to the fitting room, where a group of baby mannequins are watching over the spectacle of archived pieces.

What an impressive collaboration between the two Maisons using a contemporary vision, enhancing their artisanal heritage and leading me to whisper ... Ok,  I want a piece of his collection for summer!
